This last year has been a year of limitations. Frustrating, yes, but it’s taught me a lot. Probably the most significant lesson has been that limitations have a hidden gift … creativity.
When the store doesn’t have its usual supplies, you try a new recipe with what you can find. Limited travel means finding new things to do at home. And so forth.
What a lovely lesson to carry and something I hope to remember and use the rest of my life (because limitations come in different packages and in all seasons of life).
Aging means creative options in the bedroom. Health issues might mean creating a new diet or learning to do what you love in a different way. A change in jobs means working around different hours or creating a new budget. Life happens and limits pop up in the strangest of places.
So, the next time a limit gets you down, pause and pray, and then roll up your sleeves and get creative.
The world of reality has its limits, the world of imagination is boundless. Jean-Jacques Rousseau
