Today is Giving Tuesday. It’s a day created to encourage generosity and inspire charitable giving. After all the rush, rush and buy, buy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s nice to take time out to just reflect and give.
Do you and your husband talk about giving? I ask because it is one more way you can build intimacy in your marriage. Take the time to talk about what’s important to you both and how you might serve others with your time, money, or talents.
Share your heart and thoughts. What needs are you aware of? What people and ministries touch your heart? If you are a part of a local body of believers, can you give to support those who serve? Are there folks that could benefit from your talents? Online there are many opportunities to give.
As the year comes to a close, take the time to talk it through with your sweetie and look for ways to give together.
How you can help The Generous Wife:
Please remember The Generous Wife and The Generous Husband blogs in prayer. We post every day of the year (that’s a lot of writing), read and share material from other blogs, answer emails, and more. We need His wisdom and direction in all we do.
If you shop online, please start on the Shop & Support TGW page (this link is also at the bottom of every post). When you purchase through the links on this page, The Generous Wife gets a small affiliate fee, but there is no change in your purchase price. You can “give” to TGW and it won’t cost you a dime.
When you give financially to our support, you are helping us use our time for marriage ministry purposes instead of working another job to pay our bills.
Paul and I spend our time writing blog posts and helping married couples online and in person. We read and research marriage resources and pass them on to you. We also look for and promote other marriage bloggers and their content. We’ve just recently given our website about marriage and sexuality a new look and we hope to start a Spanish version over the winter. It’s all marriage all the time. :)
Giving Tuesday marks the beginning of our end-of-year fundraising. Paul and I are donation supported and a fair amount of our income comes in during this season. For those of you in the US, giving is tax-deductible. Please prayerfully consider giving to our support. Thanks so much.
Giving is not just about making a donation, it’s about making a difference. Kathy Calvin
