Need Help?

Unfortunately my email load has gotten too big for me to handle personally. I occasionally travel (for the day job) and the ministry load both on and offline has grown. As I am not able to respond to email, I have created this page to offer people some options for finding answers to their questions and/or help for their situation.

Technical help:

If you need any kind of technical help, please email tech@the-generous-wife.com. Describe your technical problem and our techie will help you sort things out.

To unsubscribe:

At the bottom of every generous tip is a link to help you unsubscribe (it will take you to the member options login page). One of the options is to unsubscribe. If you have a problem unsubscribing, please email tech@the-generous-wife.com and our techie will take care of it for you.

If you need advice or information about marriage/sexuality:

I encourage you to join a bulletin board forum. The Generous Wife has a ladies only forum and The Marriage Bed has a mixed gender forum. Both communities are friendly and helpful.  The bulletin boards are anonymous and they offer an opportunity to receive answers and encouragement from health professionals, ministers, and people from every walk of life. There is a good deal of experience and wisdom there and it is a wonderful resource.

If you or your spouse is dealing with pornography or any kind of sexual addiction:

I encourage you to seek out a ministry that specialized in this kind of help. I personally like BeBroken.com. I have talked with them and I like their materials and general attitude toward recovery.

If you feel that you need help with relational issues:

There are a number of sources to consider and you will need to see what is available in your area. Here are a few ideas.

Accountability Groups
Couple to Couple Support
Lay Counselors
Lay Support Groups (12-step etc)
Licensed Counselors
Marriage Enrichment Courses
Mentoring
Message Boards
Pastoral Counselors
Prayer Ministries (Theophostic Prayer Ministry, Elijah House, etc.)
Professional Support Groups
Psychiatrists
Psychologists
Self Help Books

The American Association of Christian Counselors has a search feature for finding a counselor in your area.

I also highly recommend Theophostic Prayer ministries. This ministry has a good track record in helping people deal with deep personal wounds and relational issues. Often when people balk at counseling, they may find prayer ministry to be a more comfortable option.

click on the public directory (in the left column) to find a minister in your area.

If you are looking for a good marriage book, I encourage you to check out the bookstore. I've tried to include books that offer real substance and that address common needs.

If you are in an abusive relationship:
Please seek help immediately. You need to deal with your marriage from a place of safety.

And finally, a thank you.
Many of you send me little thank you's and bits of encouragements and fun stories. Thank you for sharing from your life. Bless you.
