There’s More Pie

January 24, 2017

in the generous life

♥ ♥ ♥ 21 days until Valentine’s Day! ♥ ♥ ♥

I wish I could remember who shared this concept with me (I would so thank him), but “a guy” once said, “There is no need to fight over a piece of pie. There are more pies and enough to go around.”

His point was when we focus on our own needs, we tend to get selfish and fight over what is available. It’s like there is only one piece of pie and we want it!

There's More Pie - Get creative and look for options.

However, if we will get creative and look for options there are often many ways to meet everyone’s needs. There is more “pie” if we will look for it.

So the next time you and your husband have a conflict, ask yourself if you are fighting over pie (my way or your way) and look for more pie instead (how can we meet both of our needs).

When life throws you lemons, make lemon meringue pie.  Author Unknown

Prayer Prompt  Ask God to help you and your husband see more pie options.

This is such a wonderful way to look at most things in life. Thanks for the reminder, Lori!

I also saw a cute quote about glasses being half full or half empty … silly people, glasses are refillable!

Garry, you might want to check out as well. It’s nice to have the balance of a male voice too.
