Where’s Your Marriage Umbrella?

October 5, 2016

in the generous life

I belong to the Christian Marriage Bloggers Assoc. This month we are having a writing challenge. We’re supposed to write something about this photo (by Kate of Kate Aldrich Photography and One Flesh Marriage).

Where's Your Marriage Umbrella - Be intentional about gathering resources to protect your marriage.

An umbrella shelters you from wet weather.

What are the common storms in your marriage?
Financial stresses? In-law pressures? Communication problems?

What protects you from those storms?
Prayer? Laughter? Hugs? Great sex? A weekly planning meeting? Good friends who will listen and brainstorm with you?

Be intentional about gathering those things to you that are helpful.

You don’t want to get caught without your marriage umbrella.

No relationship is all sunshine, but two people can share on umbrella and survive the storm together.  Author Unknown

Umbrellas aren’t very big. Usually only enough room to hold two people, if they stay close together. So, don’t let other people in or you and your spouse are going to get wet or pushed out.
