I’ve been watching the Love & Respect’s DVD series and, I have to say, it’s amazing. There’s a lot of gold.
It is fairly stereotyped by gender, so you have to make a few allowances if you and your husband are not the norm, but the info shared is solid regardless.
One thing I wanted to share from the series is something that Emerson says quite frequently.
“Your [husband or wife] is just different. Is that OK?”
They might need something you don’t need or see life differently than you do … is that OK?
In the video, the camera often pans to the audience and you see men and women struggling with the concept. My way is not the only way? My perspectives are not the only way of looking at life? You don’t need what I need? You need something else? Oh, how we need to be validated and loved for our unique selves.
These questions might make for some interesting conversation with your sweetie. Better yet, get the DVD’s and watch and discuss with hubby and a group of friends.
