Earlier this morning my husband wrapped his arms around me and told me how much he appreciates me (it could have something to do with being away for four days at a men’s retreat).
I don’t really think he said anything that he hasn’t said before, but there was something about his genuine tone of voice that let me know he really meant it. I felt deeply loved and appreciated.
I try to learn from moments like this. I am not always the best at communicating and “words of affirmation” is not my love language, but I did learn that simple words spoken genuinely have great impact.
What does my husband mean to me?
How does he make me feel?
What do I see in him?
What good thing have I seen him do lately?
Gather your thoughts, practice a bit and then go tell your husband how much you appreciate him.
