Hit the Books

in the generous life

I love my local library. I think my husband would too, if I could get him there (afternoons are usually busy for him).

I think I’m going to check their hours and see if one evening I can talk my husband into a “library date.”

If you or your sweetie are bookish, a library date would offer creative (and free) fun. You could:

get a book to read and discuss together
pick out 3 books you enjoy
pick out 3 books you think your spouse would enjoy
sit in the quiet and read magazines (holding hands, of course)
pick out a travel book and dream a bit
pick out a book on something you know nothing about

You could make it as creative or as simple as you like. Just enjoy each other and your literary choices.

Books are the bees which carry the quickening pollen from one to another mind.  James Russell Lowell

Oh I love this idea! You could do the same at a bookstore that offers a coffee shop! :-)

When my husband and I were first married, we were very young and had little money to go on “real” dates, so many times, we had our dates at the library. We would go in, find a book or magazine to read, sit in the comfy chairs and hold hands or read to each other. If there was an isle with no one else around, we always would sneak in a few kisses. :)
