Time to Pray!

March 2, 2014

in the generous life

This is the first Sunday of month, so time for a cyber prayer meeting.

Please join me in prayer for all the marriages represented by The Generous Wife list. Women receive the posts by email, RSS reader, facebook, Twitter, emails get forwarded, posts get put in bulletins and newsletters, and more. I actually have no idea how many women follow TGW. There’s just a whole mess of us and we could all use prayer for our marriages.

Just pause for a moment and ask God to move on the hearts of husbands and wives. Ask for wisdom and understanding, for love and for grace.

If you have any personal prayer requests, feel free to leave them as a comment to this post (this is a public forum, so please be discreet and kind).

Every time I have had a breakthrough in my life, it has been because of Prayer.  John Maxwell

We are THAT Family: When It Falls Off, You Know You’ve Done Your Part I love this new prayer idea for Mercy House. It is certainly a worthy cause. (The idea could be used for all kinds of prayer needs (including your marriage) and you could use any item as a prayer reminder.)

I am on LinkedIn. Yesterday I met a sister in Christ who needs prayer. For the last 13 years she has been on dialysis. This is the week she is off of it for the first time in 13 years. She is in hospice mode. She loves the Lord and is asking for a smooth transition. Her name is Amber. We will formally lift her up in prayer a church today. Thank you in advance for all the prayers as she prepares to go to heaven.

I’ve been enjoying this site and themarriagebed.com site since 2002…the year G & I got married. Our marriage needs heavy duty prayer…

We are going through a tough time right now……G is going to start some christian counseling for being addicted to porn. I had been forgiving the first 3-4 times I had discovered it, but this time hurt too much and I had to adamant about him getting some help. I may need counseling too.
I can’t tell you how terrible it makes me, as the wife, feel…..worthless, ugly, rejected, the list goes on and on.
I so appreciate your prayers, God Bless You & Your Husband, L

Praying for all of the marriages represented by TGW!! Praise God that my marriage has transformed from chaos to order; however, we still have a long way to go. Please pray that my husband will desire to be a strong spiritual leader for our home and that he will engage with our boys. Also, please pray that I can be the Godly wife and mother God has called me to be regardless of my husband’s choices! Thank you so much!

I am so weary of the flare-up silly arguments that arise in the car on the way home from church. It damages all our responses to the precious message our pastor preaches, and attacks the decisions we made in response. It just blocks our good intentions. Today, of all things, it was about where to eat dinner! I pray the Lord will help us be sensitive to each other’s spiritual needs.

My teenage nephew has been in trouble and come to live with us. We want to give him a better chance in life than he’s had so far, but this is putting a huge strain on our relationship. We are tired and stressed but seems there’s nowhere else for him to go. We would appreciate prayer for strength, patience, and wisdom to make the right decisions, and the ability to work together to get the support we need from government organisations, instead of fighting each other. Thanks!!

Husband and I going through a tough time. He is under strong spiritual attack and succumbing to it, to the point of abusive behaviors (not directly towards me). Pray for me to know exactly how to pray for him and remain strengthened. Pray for his sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and a true repentance that affects both of our hearts and makes a substantial change in our marriage permanently. Also, I am 6 months pregnant with our first. So prayer all around is needed. Pray that I lean into God more and more and he gives me the words to speak and the thoughts to have without fear and with wisdom.
