Paul and I have been battling a stomach bug the last few days.
Whoever feels better at any given moment does the most necessary of tasks. There have been a few times when this was a toss up, but we are muddling through.
I think the thing that I find most interesting is that nurturing each other often finds its way to the top of the list of necessary tasks. Making sure that we each have covers, drink or meds far outweighs a number of things that would have seemed necessary on a normal day.
I want this attitude to continue when the stomach bug is finally vanquished. What could nurturing Paul look like on a normal day? Do his needs and wants stay high on my “to do” list or do “necessary” things crowd them out?
Hmmm. Food for thought.
