in the generous life

Yesterday I wrote about having holiday attitudes that bless those around you. Then I found myself reeling off a litany of negatives to my husband. This yucky thing happened and that effort went all wrong.

Sheesh! How can I have good attitudes if my focus is largely on the negative?

Now I’m not saying that you can’t acknowledge the bad or that you shouldn’t share your struggles with your man. I’m just saying that focusing on the good and the lovely will help us with our attitudes. And sharing the good and the lovely will make our relationships sweeter (and give us a sense of balance when we do have to deal with the negative).

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.  Philippians 4:8  NIV

It really is amazing what a simple act of kindness can do for another person. You never know what a person is going through. I really enjoyed the articles I read today.
