It’s About My Choices

in the generous life

Yesterday’s post about being happy-friendly-relaxed is still floating around in my head. Then I ran across this.

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous; be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.  Mother Teresa

If I learn one thing in this life I hope it’s that I’m responsible for me and it’s my job to work with God to make me more like Jesus.

I can choose to be a loving wife (regardless of how my husband acts). I can choose to be caring, generous and thoughtful. I can choose to be busy or slow down. I can choose to trust God rather than worry. I can choose to be me instead of being what is expected of me.

Who do you want to be? What does that look like lived out?

Time-Warp Wife: Who Are You Behind Closed Doors? Wow, I like this one. It fits in pretty well with the last couple of day’s musings.

Holley Gerth: Give Your Laughter this Christmas More good stuff on attitude.
