Invitation to Calmness and Connection

November 27, 2013

in the generous life

One of the best holiday gifts you can give your spouse (and others) is the gift of “calm.”

Speak words of calm. Say “it’s alright” or “let’s take a break.” Change the mood and help people de-stress.

You can also ask questions like, “Remember when?” and invite people into moments of connection (whether that is asking for a kiss or inviting people to play a game).

Pause. Take a breath. Speak something that helps everyone slow down, relax and connect with others.

I feel like saying we need to all calm down a little. Let’s take the time to breathe. Pauline Marois

With the busy life we all lead I think this is something we can do any time of the year, but yes especially now! Thank you for the reminder!

I love the idea of the “gift of calm.” My husband is better at giving that gift than I am, but I am better at it now than in previous years.
