in the generous life

I was hanging with a group of friends and we got to talking about “permissions.”

What do we allow ourselves to do? Not do? Why are we waiting? What don’t we do because … well … we’re not sure why.

It all boiled down to permissions.

Somewhere in the past we were told what to do (or not do) and it stuck. Now we’re grown up and we’re still waiting for someone to tell us it’s OK to explore, to try, to have a life.

Where do you get your permissions? Who do you need to listen to? What do you want to do? What do you want to explore? What dreams has God put on your heart?

Talk this over with your husband and be there for each other.

Give each other permission.

One extends one’s limits only by exceeding them.  M. Scott Peck
