Anticipation and Fun

November 1, 2013

in the generous life

I just have to show off my son a bit. He’s dressed as Flynn from Tangled. He and his sweetheart (dressed as Rapunzel) helped with a harvest party last night (they promised me more pictures).

It took some effort to create the costume and they spent hours setting up for the party. Yet, they were excited and looking forward to the event. I have to wonder if all the prep wasn’t a part of building anticipation and a sense of fun.

Just something to think about.

I’m all for spur of the moment fun and easy times of fun, but there is something to be said for building toward a special time with your husband. That might be planning a special night out, a small vacation or a costume party. Let the preparations be a part of the anticipation and fun.

I am thankful for the mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.  Nancie J. Carmody
