Appreciate the Differences

October 25, 2013

in the generous life

The recent posts on spontaneity reminded me of how different my husband and I are.

My husband is Mr. Spontaneity and I am Ms. Planning. He’s an extrovert and I’m an introvert. I love a quiet evening working on a puzzle and he’s “let’s make cookies and have a game night with friends!”

As we have allowed ourselves to love the differences in each other, we have grown and experienced many things we probably wouldn’t have otherwise (and most of those things are good).

This weekend, make a point of looking for those differences in your marriage. Enjoy them and let your husband know how much you appreciate his uniqueness.

(in)courage: The Truth About Our Identity This one touched my heart. I’ve worn so many labels in my life. It’s nice to wear just one ~ “His”.

I too posted on this very thing yesterday! Accepting and even celebrating our differences is crucial to helping your spouse gain confidence in your love.
