From The Generous Wife archive:
Ask your husband what kinds of things really bug him (perhaps you already know). His answers will reveal something of his values.
For example if rude or careless drivers irritate him, then perhaps thoughtfulness or safety are important to him. If he’s routinely upset by coworkers being late to work or not having their work done on time, then punctuality is high on his list of values. Perhaps clutter drives him nuts because order and functionality are important to him.
As you learn, ask yourself how you can value what is important to him. Do you need to work on punctuality? Do you need to make your house safer (make sure all medicines, cleansers, pesticides, etc. are out of reach of children)? Do you need to straighten up the home office?
(It’s OK to share with your husband about those things that are important to you too.)
