Meet for a Meal

September 28, 2013

in the generous life

What meal do you typically not share with your husband? For fun, change things up a bit and make a date over that meal.

Have breakfast in bed. Meet him for lunch at the park or mall. Meet halfway for dinner.

Yes, it will take a little creativity to make that happen (there’s a reason you don’t usually share that meal), but it will make for a change from the ordinary, leave you with a few fun memories and give you a little extra couple time.

The shared meal elevates eating from a mechanical process of fueling the body to a ritual of family and community, from the mere animal biology to an act of culture.  Michael Pollan
