Plan and Buy Early

August 20, 2013

in the generous life

I know this is waaaaay early, but do begin to think about Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers for your sweetie.

If you start now you can plan gifts that are useful, meaningful and that he will enjoy. You can also make it easier on your budget if you do a little at a time, instead of rushing around last minute buying “stuff.”

I would also encourage you to think of non-item gifts (like coupons, tickets to a concert, food you can eat up, etc.). Most of us have too much stuff as it is. Certainly buy those items your spouse would enjoy, but consider your options before you add unnecessary clutter to your household.

Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas.  Peg Bracken

I LOVE filling up stockings! When I was at home I always did my younger siblings stockings, then I would fill up my roommates stockings in college and now I get to do it for my husband! I try to do a few things that he needs like chap stick, a new pair of running socks, etc. I also add a few of his favorite snack foods since we don’t typically keep them around. Have to agree- no need for clutter! :)
