Burnt Split Pea Soup

July 22, 2013

in the generous life

I don’t know about y’all, but I have days when life happens in my face.

I love it when my husband hugs me or prays for me or is just gracious when I totally mess up. (I have a knack for burning meals. I need to have a timer permanently affixed to my forehead, really.)

I figure if I appreciate my husband’s kindness and understanding, he would likely appreciate some of the same.

So just as something to practice, let’s be understanding of our husbands when life happens to them (or they totally mess up).

A gracious woman gets honor …  Proverbs 11:16a  ESV

OK, maybe this is a bit too helpful? (men and their bungee cords, I guess I should be grateful it’s not duct tape)

And that, my dear, is why I make my split pea soup in the crockpot. There’s no time we need love and understanding more than when we’ve messed up, is there?

I used to do that. I need to drag out the old crockpot.
