Stepping In

July 8, 2013

in the generous life

I was out mowing the yard the other day. I didn’t know it, but my husband was keeping an eye on me so he could step in to mow the drainage ditch when I got to that part of the yard. I can do it, but it takes a fair amount of push and lift, something that is far easier for him.

Life is full of situations like that. Some jobs are easier for you. Some jobs are easier for your husband. Knowing what is difficult for your spouse and being willing to step in when needed is a thoughtful and caring gesture.

Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. Sally Koch
