A Great Weapon Against Difficulties

June 28, 2013

in the generous life

From The Generous Wife archive:

Yesterday my sweetie and I had a difficult day. My husband is drowning in code with a website move (day job) and my bookkeeping cup runneth over (you know it’s bad when you dream about it).

I’m really proud of myself and my husband. No, we did not handle it perfectly (at one point I said, “I don’t like how I’m acting”), but we did stay honest, listen to each other, pray for each other and generally face the problems as a team instead of acting like two cats with our tails on fire.

My point behind this bit of sharing is that being a team is a great tool and a great weapon against difficulties. When your husband is having a tough moment, take the time to care, to listen, to help (if you can), and to pray. Don’t just sit there, complain, or call him a wuss. Consider his problem to be your problem and do something, even if it’s just to take a moment to empathize and pray.

Excellent reminders today! When you face “the problem” whatever it may be, as a team, instead of facing off over the problem, so much more is accomplished and a successful outcome can truly be found. Great point!
