Kitchen Table Piles

May 2, 2013

in the generous life

I cleared off my kitchen table because we were having guests later in the day.

I realized as I did it that my husband deserves the same courtesy and care. (The occasional mess that happens with life is understandable, but ongoing mess just feels disrespectful to me.)

Kitchen tables tend to attract a whole lot of clutter (I think it has to do with being a horizontal surface), so I’m keeping a better eye on my table. I want meals to be a special time for my sweetie and me.

A crust eaten in peace is better than a banquet partaken in anxiety.  Aesop

I know I am much better about neatening our space up if folks are coming. You have encouraged me to give the same courtesy and care to my hubby!

The piles really get away from me sometimes too. It bugs my husband in certain areas more than others. I’ve been trying to at least move my stuff to my own desk (where the piles could grow to Leaning-Tower-of-Pisa proportions and my hubby wouldn’t notice). It’s an ongoing effort.

Definitely agree with this, sometimes we give others more attention and overlook the people closest to us!
