Iron Sharpening Iron

March 16, 2013

in the generous life

My husband and I shared a meal with friends last night. We talked for hours.

We have a lot of things in common, but we were also willing to wrestle over different ideas and perspectives. We talked about how to minister to the poor. We talk about tent making and taking donations. We talked about living the Gospel, in the messy, inconvenient, lay down your life kind of way.

It was both challenging and encouraging.

It’s tough to find friends that will do that in conversation. If you don’t have some folks like that in your life, keep looking and praying for some. They are invaluable friends.

Certainly a time like this makes for good couple time (a win) and friends like this will also challenge you to think and grow up (another win).

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.  Proverbs 27:17  NIV
