Do you rest?
I don’t mean do you sleep at night. I’m asking if you have some down time during your day and your week.
Do you sit quietly?
Do you read?
Do you play?
Do you talk with friends?
Do you pray?
We are made to need a certain amount of down time. When we get that we are refreshed and more able to function. Without it we’re stressed, we make mistakes, we overreact and generally muddle through life at half speed.
What would it take to have the down time you need? A simpler meal a couple of times a week? Working your way out of a couple of responsibilities? Organizing your responsibilities differently? Delegate something?
(I know there are seasons in life that make this harder, but do try to make time for yourself, for your sanity, your health and for those you love.)
