Our husband’s are not perfect communicators. (I know this is truly shocking news!) ;)
With that in mind, let’s give our guys the benefit of the doubt. When they say something awkward or potentially offending, why not take a breath, smile and ask them to elaborate.
Give them the room to blunder, to wander a bit, or use words that we wouldn’t use. Just ask a few questions and keep listening and playing it back until you understand.
In doing so you create a more relaxed and accepting atmosphere. Conversations aren’t expected to be perfect and understanding is the goal.
