We All Need Encouragement

in the generous life

Congratulations Sharon for being the 54th poster and winner
of a free copy of You’re Already Amazing by Holley Gerth.

I’m really delighted to recommend this book and I encourage y’all (again) to get a copy.

I think the thing that really stands out to me about this book is the level of encouragement. So much tears us down, weighs us down, and generally discourages us.

I like Holley’s life perspective of how precious we are to God and how He has great plans for us. At a foundational level we need that kind of acceptance and encouragement.

Her book is a shot in the arm, as is her new book You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream. I’ve just started it and will give a better review when I’m done.

Anyhow, all this wandering around to say, it’s a good plan to read encouraging books, hang with encouraging friends and generally dream big dreams. Take a moment to list the people and things in your life that encourage you. If that list is too small, do something about it. Buy You’re Already Amazing. Make a new (and encouraging) friend. Read encouraging blogs. Spend a bit more time in prayer. Share with your husband that you need encouragement. Ask for his help and prayers.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11  NIV
