Holiday Prayer

November 11, 2012

in the generous life

I think a prayer for the holidays is in order.

Lord, please watch over the families represented by this list. I ask for traveling safety, for patience and grace in the busyness, and for joy in the celebrations. I also ask for moments of intimacy for husband and wives, for moments of shared wonder and beauty, for gratefulness and love. In Jesus name, Amen.

… praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints  …  Ephesians 6:18  ESV

My family would appreciate prayers about hearing God’s will for our lives. My husband and I both feel God calling us to something, but are differing on how to accomplish that call. We will know which way is correct (or there may even be a way we haven’t considered) when He brings us to oneness in thought.

My infant has pneumonia, my 4 year old stopped being potty trained and her intestinal issues flared up. Continue to pray for healing and growth in our marriage and marriage bed. Also, I am dealing with Post parting depression and feeling so overwhelmed.

My husband and I will be traveling soon and meeting up with his family. We will celebrate Thanksgiving as usual, and the next day we’ll have a small memorial service and spread his mother’s ashes. This is the final step following the death of my mother-in-law this summer.

Please pray that this trip gives my husband get peace and closure. Blessings!
