Weather Watch

November 8, 2012

in the generous life

This morning we had the perfect storm at our house. I was told “wait” one too many times and Paul got some extra work dumped on him in the face of some things that needed to be done before we get any serious snow. Plus there is our usual work load and things we would like to do. It just all came together at once.

We got a bit grumpy and defensive, but in the end we got smart and Paul reminded me about the idea of a weekly meeting. When we talk about our upcoming week, what we need, what we’d like to do, it all gets said and understood. We can’t always do what we want to do that week, but it gets put on the table and worked into the stream of our to-do lists.

… well, at least now we have a “weather watch” and hopefully no more perfect storms.

Why not talk to your sweetie about a weekly meeting (especially needful as we approach the often busy holiday season)?

Love this, Lori! What a great suggestion and a way to short-circuit potential problems. It reminds me that just as we need to sit down and go over our financial budget, we need to sit and go over our “time budget” as well, especially so the urgent doesn’t completely crowd out the important!
