Needed Compliments

November 7, 2012

in the generous life

Yesterday my husband paid me a compliment. It was a nice one and I know he truly meant it, but he had paid me the same compliment a couple of days ago (same compliment, slightly different words). So I asked him why. He said it was because he knew I needed to hear it … and really believe it. (I think he is going with the “if you say it often enough, maybe she’ll believe it” idea.)

He was right. I did need to hear it and it’s working its way into my brain.

Look for ways of complimenting your sweetie, especially in those areas where you know he really needs encouragement. We all have areas where we struggle. Be there for your guy where he needs it most.
