Respect for Personal Projects

in the generous life

My husband has been a real sweetheart about my cottage garden. He knows it’s my little world to play in. He’s there to help if I need it (those bags of mulch are heavy), but mostly he just enjoys me enjoying my garden.

Well, I realized the other day  that I was not returning the favor. I found myself giving him way too much advice on his “little world to play in” ~ the hoop house in the garden. So I backed off a bit and just enjoyed his handiwork. He’s having so much fun and it really is looking great. (When it’s all done I’ll take a picture of it for y’all.)

We all need something to play with and putter around in a bit. Encourage your guy in his projects and respect that they are his. Be a helping hand if he needs it, but just enjoy watching the process and celebrate his accomplishments.

Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a child at play.  Heraclitus

Pinterest Idea: Grateful Journal I think these would make terrific Christmas gifts.  All you would need are some small notebooks, attachable tabs and few scrapbooking supplies.

The Minimalists: One Thing Each Day A great idea for simplifying and dejunking.

Yes, sometimes I have to remember to hold my tongue when hubby is working on a project. Most of the time, he doesn’t need my “assistance!”
