Your Words

in the generous life

I have known gals who routinely says things like:

I have such a poor marriage.
My husband just doesn’t get it. He’s never going to change.
I guess I’m just destined to live with a bad marriage. Some people get good marriages. I get a bad one.

It is unlikely that their marriages will improve because they are setting the boundaries of their marriage relationship with their words.

What are you saying about your husband and marriage?
What could you say that would open the door to health and growth?

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.  Psalm 19:14  ESV

Once we’ve given up, there really isn’t much hope left for a marriage.

I’ve learnt to be careful what I say about my husband. This tongue is just a terrible slandering tool.
