Rub Elbows

July 7, 2012

in the generous life

A couple of nights ago I met with friends and had a lovely conversation about a book (we are reading three chapters a week and discussing it). I could pull several post ideas from that evening, but the one I want to point to is the wealth of ideas that comes from rubbing elbows with other people. I am challenged by others’ perspectives and exposed to a myriad of ideas and truckloads of wisdom. I really grow when I hang out with others.

I know we can’t all make regular time to have discussions with friends, but there are other options – like reading blogs. As I was looking for a couple of posts to share with y’all, I ran into several great posts and couldn’t pick my usual two (this seems to be the week for amazing posts). So grab a cup of coffee and settle in to read. “Rub elbows” with these writers and gain from their wisdom and encouragement.

Thanks so much for sharing these articles! I think it’s important for us to read and listen about other people’s thoughts and opinions, not just about random books and events, but about things that are going on in their lives and ours as well. We can never have too much advice. And even the most simple of them can help us through our lives.
