An Encouragement for the Journey

in the generous life

From The Generous Wife archive:

Baby steps are a good thing.  We don’t have to know everything and be able to do everything perfectly.  We just need to keep loving the Lord, learning His ways and continue to walk, even when we’re just making baby steps with the occasional falling down on our bums.  It’s OK to be human, to fail, to learn, to grow, to succeed, to fail again … it is a learning process, a journey.

Celebrate the successes and give yourself a bit of grace when you land on your bum.  Pick yourself off, dust off a bit and get moving again.  Be patient with yourself, keep learning, and, as much as possible, enjoy the journey that is your life.

Growth is an erratic forward movement: two steps forward, one step back. Remember that and be very gentle with yourself.  Julia Cameron
