Put Some Muscle Into It

June 7, 2012

in the generous life

A couple of days ago I wrote a bit about building up your husband by verbally encouraging him. He needs to know that you appreciate him and that you believe in him.

Words are deeply important, but so is action. Are you willing to go beyond verbal encouragement and do something tangible to help him further his dreams and goals?

Be his sounding board for a project, help him train for a marathon (and cheer him on), or make room in the budget for the DVD course he needs.

Put some muscle into your encouragement.

People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.  Lewis Cass

This is great advice! Not everyone makes the effort to actually do something concrete for their spouses anymore, and reminding them to do so is something, I’m sure, that they welcome.
