Turn His Day Around

June 5, 2012

in the generous life

This morning I was curled up in bed trying to get oriented for the day. I had much to do and I was feeling a bit … um, not up to the task. My sweetie hugged me and spoke into my life. It was just a bit of simple praise, but it turned my day around.

He believed in me and that was just what it took to refresh my heart and help me see my day differently.

I encourage y’all to look for times to do the same thing for your husband. Speak little bits of encouragement into his day. Let him know how much you love him, how you believe in him and how much you appreciate all his hard work, creativity, kindness, and [whatever it is that you appreciate].

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. Proverbs 16:24  ESV

I usually email my husband some encouragement during the day and he does back also. I always look forward to it.

I just want to say that I read your blog everyday. It’s like my short sweet reminder to do something positive for my marriage and husband. Today I took your advice and wrote my husband a short note telling him how much I love him and appreciate him. I also raved about how beautiful his recent landscaping of our yard was and complimented him on a book he just wrote. Here is his response:

Thank you so much! Your approval means everything to me. I love you too!

Thank you for all your encouragement on this blog!

@Sis and @Karyl It’s amazing how even a small encouragement can make such a huge difference. Our guys really do crave our approval and appreciation.

So very true! I try to always text him when he’s out fishing (self employed). So that when he’s on his way home, he has something to look forward to when his cell picks up signal again! :) It is very important to show him how much he means to us still, down the road in marriage! Thank you for the reminder! :) Stoppin by via the link up with WLW :)
