Be Aware, Be Kind

April 12, 2012

in the generous life

My husband tilled the garden yesterday (we have a big garden plot). He was pretty sore by the end of the day.

One of the things that my husband and I try to do for each other (and I’m recommending to y’all) is to be aware of the rough spots in each other’s day and help out. For me that meant getting things for him so he wouldn’t have to make another trip up and down the stairs and helping out with dinner prep (he was planning to make dinner too, silly man).

Be aware. Be kind.

In a world full of people who couldn’t care less, be someone who couldn’t care more.   Author Unknown

Thanks for this simple yet true reminder! So many of us overlook the things our partners do for us on a daily basis, especially the little things that matter so much, and we forget to appreciate them, thank them and return the favor.
