I talked yesterday about using your values to help you make New Year resolutions. Another great idea is to pick a word or two or three that becomes a theme or mission for your year.
For example, perhaps God is speaking to you about taking more time just to be with Him. As you plan your days, look for things that will make this easy. Buy some good worship music. Create a God basket. Ask your family for help (as in give you alone time, yes, I believe in miracles). Listen to God and let that time with Him be the direction for your year.
Here are a few articles from folks who are doing just this:
My Word for 2012 (from We are THAT Family)
My 3 Words for 2012 (from Chris Brogan, he includes a list of what others are doing, quite fun to read)
2012 New Year’s Resolutions, Goals or Words (from 5 Minutes for Mom)
My One Word (an interesting site dedicated to this idea)
