The Season of Serving

December 4, 2011

in the generous life

Pray for a servant’s heart for your husband and yourself.

When I look at the New Testament church what I see is a gathering of believers who had a heart to serve, reaching out to each other and to the lost.  They wanted to be like their Master (the greatest servant model ever) and they went about laying their lives down for others.

And, really, this season gives us plenty of opportunity to serve.  What a good thing it is to serve your spouse and to serve with your spouse as you reach out to others.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45  NIV

Holiday get-togethers would make this idea fairly easy to do.  Save Your Family Stories NOW – a lovely guest post by Beth LaMie (on Simple Marriage)

If you are looking for a little holiday baking cheer, I encourage y’all to check out Demarle at Home ware. (aff link)   (Yes, it’s expensive, but, if you are into good quality, this is the real deal.)  I’ve decided to dejunk my kitchen and slim down to a few nice multi-purpose pans.
