My husband and I live in a very little town that is 15-20 minutes away from a larger city. We go into the city every other week or so and go shopping, run errands, etc.
For some reason this week was just a lot of fun. We talked during the drive, played footsies over lunch, ate sample foods at Costco (loved the mini cheesecakes) and generally played as we ran errands and did some shopping (woo-hoo we scored a very nice set of mixing bowls on sale – my favorite Tupperware bowl has a burn mark from a hot skillet and is quite sad from age).
With the coming holidays there are bound to be times when you and your husband have stuff that just needs to get done. Do what you can together and have a bit of fun. Share your thoughts, enjoy each others company, roll in a meal or movie with your errands if you can. The important thing is to share life, even if it is just the stuff that you need to get done.
The ordinary can be absolutely miraculous. Simon Armitage
