Team Up in Prayer

in the generous life

© Fotografescu | Dreamstime.comAsk your husband to pray with you about one person or situation this week.  You can pray silently and/or out loud.  You can pray together and/or separately during the week.  At the end of the week talk about it again and decide whether to continue another week or move on to another person/situation.

If you spin out into more people/situations that’s fine, but don’t do so much that you get overwhelmed and quit.  The idea is to get on the same page as your husband and pray together as a team.  Find the balance that works for you.  You might want to get a small journal to write down your weekly prayers.

(If you’re married to an unbeliever, I encourage you to find a prayer partner and make your husband/marriage an ongoing prayer subject.)

The One Year Book of Praying through the Bible (aff link) is a nice resource.   Each day includes a verse or two of scripture, a brief devotional thought, a prayer, and a quote. Also included is a Bible reading list that will get you through the Bible in a year.

I’ve asked dh to pray with me, and we have a few times, but we both feel very uncomfortable. I have no idea why, but we do, so it always goes by the wayside. Sigh.
