in the generous life

© Wendb | Dreamstime.comThe idea behind The Generous Wife is that small acts of kindness can change your marriage relationship.  I think this kind of thoughtfulness and generosity is more than just a marriage blessing, it can be a radical way of life.  I often refer to “ripple effect.”  Doing something small is not a small thing.  It can change a life and more.

A few days ago, in conversation with a friend, she told me how she had encouraged a kid to finish a task instead of quit.  It turned out to be a rather significant thing for that child and I would imagine will effect how she addresses future challenges in her life.  She knows what it feels like to work through something to the finish instead of quitting.  Think of how that might effect future jobs, her marriage, parenting and more.  If she has greater stick-to-itiveness, how many people will she inspire?  How many lives will she change?  All that from just a moment of encouragement, speaking into the life of a kid.

Think of what effect you could have on your husband, your kids, your friends, and the world around you if you chose to do one generous act a day for the rest of your life.  Why not go for two or three?

Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.   Scott Adams
