Reading for Life

in the generous life

© Bertrandb | Dreamstime.comRecently at a Women of Faith conference, one of the speakers (Andy Andrews) spoke about the benefits of reading (a pretty impressive list I might add).  I just wanted to nudge y’all about it.  Reading will expose you to ideas that will help you grow up, encourage you, excite you, give you something to share, and more.

Don’t know where to start?  Try your local library.  It’s free and you can look in the different sections for something interesting.  Nice thing is, you get to return them all and grab another selection of books at your next visit.  Try a cookbook, a biography, or a book on starting a business.  Not your forte?  How about a mystery novel, a book on gardening or book about New Zealand. (Libraries have magazines, newspapers, audio books and more.)  Be sure to share your adventure with your sweetie and kids.

Books can be dangerous.  The best ones should be labeled “This could change your life.”   Helen Exley

from Andi:
How about asking your pastor what books to read? Then they might be good for your life and a pastor who knows you can narrow down the millions of choices out there!
