Considerate (and potentionally romantic) Communication

September 19, 2011

in the generous life

I mentioned being at a ladies conference over the weekend.  While I was there, I got a few texts from my husband.  He asked how things were going.  He let me know that he missed me.  He let me know where he was (and, of course, because he is Mr. Romantic there was a bit of that too).  I found it very sweet.  It was just a few words of text here and there, but it was a lovely way of connecting that didn’t interfere with the activity of my weekend.  It was a sensitive choice for communication.

I think we can all learn from this.  Connecting with your sweetie can be done in a considerate way.  Call when you know he’s on break and keep it brief.  Texting and email are great, though it may not be totally private (so watch the sexy quotient).  The same is true for notes tucked in with lunches.

So ladies, work on your timing.  Be aware of privacy issues.  Be romantic, when possible.  I think that’s it.

Be generous!  Lori <><

My husband and I learned about a phrase that we text back in forth.
It is SCHMILY- which means See How Much I love You. We heard about it in a couples devotional we were reading that an old couple used there whole marriage in little noted posted places here and there.
It brought tears to my eyes when even on one of their death beds, they said it to each other before he passed away.
I thought some of you might like this idea so that is why I shared.
