On the Map

August 26, 2011

in the generous life

My husband and I are traveling as you read this.  We are setting up to run a conference for the day job.  Over the years as we’ve traveled we’ve noted the states that we’ve visited.  We’re even creating a map so that we can see where we’ve been.  It’s a fun and silly thing that reminds us of great times together and the usual smattering of crazy family stories (like the time we wondered if we were ever going to get out of Portland).

I think you could use that idea for any number of things (with large and small maps).  Why not map out where you’ve had vacations or use a city map and mark the different restaurants that you’ve tried?

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.   St. Augustine

Oh- we just did this- bought an atlas, and started drawing on every road in every state we’ve ever been, 2 colors of ink, so we can see where we need to “catch up” to one another on a few states. It’s been so much fun! And after 35 years, also very surprising! Only 10 more states to hit!
