Simple (but important)

in the generous life

Sit next to your spouse.  Simple.  Easy.  It shows preference.  Nice. (You could hold his hand. Also nice.)

(Some of the tips I write are very, very simple.  So simple, I think that folks are tempted to overlook them or dismiss them.  I would challenge y’all to actually make a point of preferring your husband this week.  Give him your attention.  Sit next to him.  Talk to him.  Listen to him.  Touch him.  He is special.  Show him how much you value him by your choice to spend time with him.)

Be generous!  Lori <><

An unexpected back rub always melts my husband’s stress away. Not the big planned kind, but the kind while he’s talking on the phone or working on his computer. :-)
Thanks for the challenge, Lori, to not miss the simple, easy things. I’m afraid I do – too often in the busyness of life. But not this week!

My husband’s primary love language is Physical touch so everytime I touch him it means a lot to him since he’s always the one who’s touching me. It really makes a difference. Thank you for that reminder! :)

When my husband is home and say, watching TV and I’m on break from work (I work at home) I always sit beside him, hold his hand and/or hug him then do funny conversations with him. It ebbs stress away. :)

Great post Lori. One thing I always try to do is sit next to my husband when we are at church, instead of having the kids in between us (I know with little ones, this isn’t always possible).

If a husband and wife can make a concerted effort to sit next to each other, it really can be a great non-verbal way of saying… “I’m glad I’m married to you. I’m glad our marriage is a priority.”

It also sends a great message to the kiddos about the significance of the marital relationship.
