The Gift Box

in the generous life

Years back my husband bought a box and we dubbed it “the gift box” (it was a cute photo box, but you could get a plain box and decorate it yourself.)  We’d leave little gifts and notes for each other.  It was fun to leave something for him and then peek now and then to see if he’d found it yet.  Sometimes there would be a gift or note there for me when I went to peek.

I’ve seen a number of variations on this theme.  There are cute little mailboxes available (aff link).  You could also just leave gifts for each other on your pillows, keyboards or whatever place you tend to notice.  The idea is that people like little gifts and notes.  Make room for that in your life.  Even if your husband doesn’t do that for you, do it for him (and perhaps he will learn to give gifts by watching you).

May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love.   L.O. Baird

We have a frames in wood 1/2 chaulk board and cork that hangs on our door between the livingroom and the sitting room(where we spend all out time) that we leave little notes on even if its just “I LOVE YOU” and the other will usually write and answer like “ditto” or “me too” lol

I love this idea and will admit I ‘used’ to be much better at this, so this is a great reminder for me to step it up a bit! Everyone loves little gifts! You always have such wonderful reminders – thank you!
