Little Reminders

in the generous life

My husband and I recently took a mini-vacation to the coast of Oregon.  We spent time with friends and also took some time alone as a couple to wander the town and eventually along the beach.  We found a fist full of agates and a few unusual stones.  They reminded us of an aquarium we used to have that housed some unusual stones along with the fish.  “Why not?” we thought.  So home we went with the stones and a plan to get an aquarium.  I know that from time to time I’ll notice the stones and it will remind me again of the wonderful time I had with my sweetie walking the beach.

I encourage y’all to look for ways to commemorate good times you have with your husband.  Photos work well.  So do small items (perhaps a rock or small gift item).  It can also be fun to start a collection (“I remember we bought that on our trip to Colorado.” or “You bought me that for me when I passed my test.”).

How lucky we are to have such a treasure of memories.  Lady Bird Johnson

I had lunch with a friend yesterday and she was telling me that has been working for her marriage.
Dare your spouse to do something they normally don’t like doing and when they complete it you would do something you don’t really care for. For example I don’t like to clean up after dinner and my husband doesn’t like to fold clothes. I told him if you clean up after dinner I will fold laundry. Or if I put my jacket away when I get home he will rub my feet for a little bit. he hates when I don’t put my costs is fun and things get done around the house.
