in the generous life

The other night I realized that my family and I had become more like marbles bouncing around in a can than people who interact and love each other.  We’d moved through a busy season or two and had spun apart somewhat.  So I made … muffins.  Yes, muffins.  Never underestimate the power of something baking in the oven to bring people back into the circle of your arms.  Hugs and a few kind words.  Nice.

Life does get busy.  Keep an eye on the level of interaction you have with your husband.  When the “I love you’s,” hugs and whatnot start slipping away, be intentional about loving on your husband and reconnecting again.

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.  Marcel Proust
