in the generous life

Let your gentleness be known to all men. Philippians 4:5a  NKJV

I looked up “gentleness” and the dictionary used words like kindly, temperate, amiable, and soft.  In a world that is usually not any of those things, what a blessing we can be to our husbands if we grow in gentleness toward them.

Be generous!  Lori <><

Yes, and what a blessing it would be if husbands were that way towards their wives as well. What a better world we would have if everyone was like that towards all we meet or have contact with throughout our days. Children, our parents (especially those who are aging and aren’t quite as capable as they once were), elderly people, the checkout person at the busy store, our friends, acquaintances, coworkers, the person who looks like they just lost their best friend (maybe they did)…I always try to keep in mind maybe the person who isn’t being very gentle towards me might be having a worse day than I am and could use a kind word or smile….

Hi Lori,
Love your encouragements and suggestions so thanks for that.
I’m writing today, and I almost never do this, for anyone who might be interested in looking into the scripture you quoted b/c it’s one of my favorites but it’s Phil 4:5 not 3:5 and if they are interested they should look into Phil 4:4-7 I memorized it almost 3 yrs. ago when my daughter went through a very difficult marriage situation. It was the way I got through letting my gentleness be evident to all and not throwing anything at my son-in-law :)
God’s words, promises, are the only thing that get me through everyday.
Blessings, Mair

@Mair Thanks for the heads up. I’ve fixed the quote reference.
